Making the Game of Hockey Better and
More Accessible (Donation form below)
Thank you for your supporting the Herb Brooks Foundation. Your
generosity in the last three years has helped our organization:
1. Build and maintain the Herb Brooks Rink and Training Center—a 17,000
square-foot, off-ice training facility adjacent to the Schwan’s Super
Rinks at the National Sports Center in Blaine, Minn. Since its opening
in January 2007, the Center has trained more than 3,000 kids from around
the metropolitan area. It is currently home base for the U.S. Women’s
National Team.
2. Offer 1,600 hours of free training and scholarships for 55 inner-city
kids from the Police Athletic League (PAL), 33 kids from the East Side
of St. Paul and 121 kids from various metro regions.
3. Donated more than $10,000 in scholarships to hockey players in need
at the MN Hockey Camps in Brainerd, Minn.
4. Donated $5,000 to the City of Mahtomedi to refurbish the Warren
Strelow outdoor rinks.
5. Provided $20,000 in scholarship money to the Minn. State High School
Hockey tournament boys and girls “Herb Brooks Award” winners.
6. Consult with the City of St. Paul for the construction of two outdoor
artificial rinks at Phalen Park.
7. Provided numerous sponsorships to Minn. Youth Hockey Associations.
The
2008 Gala raised money for the following innovative programs:
