Annual Herb Brooks Foundation Gala
September 9th, 2005
Our first ever annual event was held at the
RiverCentre Grand Ballroom at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. Our host
for the evening was KSTP - TV's Joe Schmidt and 1980 Olympic Captain Mike
Eruzione.
Through the direction provided by Herb Brook's
vision and by partnering with innovative and respected individuals and
institutions, the Herb Brooks foundation will create and promote
innovative programs that "Gives the Games Back to the Kids". The
Foundation will raise funds to build a state-of-the-art indoor training
and education facility. The "HERB BROOKS
INSTITUTE" will be built at the National Sports Center in
Blaine, Minnesota next to the world's largest indoor ice facility.
The event raised monies through a very
successful live and silent auction. Items ranged from a walk-on role
opportunity in Mark Ciardi's (Producer of Miracle) upcoming movie to a Las
Vegas VIP Private Jetaway for Six to tables full of hockey memorabilia, to
signed jerseys and sticks.
