Blaine, Minn. (January 10, 2014) – The Herb Brooks Foundation is proud to partner with JB Hudson Jewelers and OMEGA to produce an evening to celebrate the Olympic dream on Wednesday, January 15 at 6 p.m. at at the JB Hudson downtown Minneapolis flagship location at 9th & Nicollet.

DREAMING OF GOLD will celebrate Minnesota’s passion for hockey; a highlight will be a special panel discussion featuring past and current Olympic hockey stars Ryan Suter (2010 and 2014), his father Bob Suter (1980), Rob McClanahan (1980), Bret Hedican (1992 and 2006), and Herb Brooks’ son Dan Brooks. As space is limited, admittance to DREAMING OF GOLD is by invitation only.

The formal program will also highlight some of the programs initiated by the Herb Brooks Foundation to carry out Herb Brooks’ vision to “grow the game of hockey.” Two special guests will be featured: Skyler Ihejirika, a 13-year old Minneapolis hockey player who got his start skating in the Foundation’s Rink Rat program, and Molly McDonald, one of the original winners of the Herb Brooks Award back in 2004.

JB Hudson Jewelers will feature a special edition of OMEGA Ladies and Men’s Seamaster Olympic Collection Sochi 2014.  A portion of the OMEGA watch sales through January 25 will benefit the Herb Brooks Foundation.  Historical OMEGA timepieces from past Olympics as well as selected Olympic hockey memorabilia will be available for viewing.

In February of 2014, OMEGA will travel to the Russian Federation to assume the responsibilities of Official Timekeeper at the upcoming Sochi 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games – a role Omega will fill for the 26th time since 1932.
