Wild announces details for Hockey Is For Everyone night March 11

Minnesota to feature eight local community groups dedicated to providing opportunities to play hockey in positive, inclusive environment

SAINT PAUL -- The Minnesota Wild on Friday announced details of Hockey Is For Everyone Awareness Night on Monday, March 11, when it hosts the San Jose Sharks at 7 p.m. at Xcel Energy Center on NBCSN and KFAN 100.3 FM, presented by TRIA Orthopaedic Center and Regions Hospital.
 
Kalli Funk from the Minnesota Whitecaps and Ruth Goldenberg from the Blake High School girls' hockey team will make the Let's Play Hockey announcement on behalf of their teams and the You Can Play Project.

Fans can purchase an exclusively-priced Hockey Is For Everyone Ticket to the game. A portion of each Hockey Is For Everyone ticket purchased will benefit DinoMights, the Herb Brooks Foundation Rink Rats, Minnesota Disabled Hockey, the Minnesota Whitecaps and the You Can Play Project. Hockey Is For Everyone merchandise including t-shirts, socks, coffee mugs, travel mugs, lanyards and Pride Tape will be available for purchase at the Hockey Lodge on March 11.
 
As part of Hockey Is For Everyone Awareness Night, the following groups will have information tables:

  • Section 104 - Minnesota Warriors/Minnesota Sled Hockey
  • Section 113 - Minnesota Wild Blind Hockey
  • Section 118 - Minnesota Special Hockey
  • Section 121 - Minnesota Whitecaps and You Can Play
  • Section 210 - Herb Brooks Foundation Rink Rats
  • Section 211 - DinoMights
  • Section 213 - Hendrickson Foundation

The Minnesota Wild will also host a Hockey Is For Everyone online auction featuring player and team signed merchandise and hockey memorabilia. Proceeds from the auction will benefit DinoMights, the Herb Brooks Foundation Rink Rats, Minnesota Disabled Hockey, the Minnesota Whitecaps, the Hendrickson Foundation and the You Can Play Project. Bidding will open at 3 p.m. CT March 4 on the official Minnesota Wild NHL Auction page. The auction will close at 12 p.m. CT on March 15.

The Minnesota Wild continues to support numerous programs and initiatives that help provide as many people as possible the opportunity to play hockey in a positive and inclusive environment. Some of the programs and initiatives the organization supports include: DinoMights, Herb Brooks Foundation, Minnesota Special Hockey, Minnesota Sled Hockey Association, United Heroes League, Minnesota Wild Blind Hockey, Minnesota Warriors Ice Hockey Program, You Can Play Project, Minnesota Whitecaps and the National Women's Hockey League.
