On Sunday night, the Herb Brooks Foundation sent 100 HBF participants and families to the St. Cloud State University versus University of St. Thomas hockey game at the Xcel Energy Center. With ticket donations from the Minnesota Wild, HBF attendees were among the 4,261 in attendance that watched St. Thomas make their Division I weekend debut.
The second-ranked St. Cloud State closed out the weekend non-conference series with a 2-0 win on Sunday, completing the sweep over St. Thomas. For some HBF kids, this was their first time experiencing a game at the Xcel Energy Center. As the hockey season begins in the NCAA and NHL, the HBF hopes to offer more similar opportunities for kids and families throughout the season.
