The Minnesota Wild Foundation and Xcel Energy Center host an in-arena "Split the Pot" Raffle to benefit local charities, including the Herb Brooks Foundation, at every home game during the Wild season. The Herb Brooks Foundation will be the beneficiary on Thursday, December 16th when the Minnesota Wild takes on the Buffalo Sabres. The Herb Brooks Foundation is donating the winning to our friend Matt Olson. Although they lost in a shootout, the Split the Pot Raffle built up to $15,055.
In 2019, Matt Olson was inducted into the Herb Brooks Youth Hall of Fame Award for his dedication, inspiration, high-moral character and perseverance to the game of hockey. The 25-year-old suffered a spinal cord injury five years ago while playing junior hockey which confined him to a wheelchair. His commitment to the hockey community remains strong. Matt is a true fighter and great friend of the Herb Brooks Foundation. Congrats Matt!
