Minneapolis youth continues to learn about skating and hockey even off the ice in the summer.

Last Tuesday and Thursday, skaters between the ages of 5 and 12 attended the rollerblading clinic held by the Herb Brooks Foundation. The skaters met at Powderhorn Park from 10 to 11:15AM to work on their skills with Coach Kalli. Using the various paths in the park and around the lake,  kids were able to work on skills like turning, stopping, and even skating backwards.

Each skater went at their own pace, with some having years of experience, and others never having put on skates before. Some of the more advanced skaters even braved a large hill in the park. Despite a few tumbles, everyone persevered and had fun!

There is still space available to enroll if you have a skater that is interested. Please contact Rink Rats Program Director Kalli Funk at kfunk@herbbrooksfoundation.com if interested or if you have any questions.
