July 26th marked the last day for the Highland Arena clinics

For the past three weeks, the HBF clinic participants have grown tremendously. By the end of the three weeks, the Learn to Skate group was comfortable on the ice, working towards moving across the ice and grasping the concept of edges. The more advanced groups, Learn to Play Hockey and Power Skating, were taking their skills to the next level. Over the course of 6 classes they improved their edge work, stickhandling, passing, and shooting.  All groups  were working incredibly hard the past three weeks, learning not only technical skills, but important life skills like teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship.

This wouldn’t have been possible without the help of our wonderful coaches and volunteers from the Herb Brooks Foundation, De La Salle High School, Mahtomedi High School, the University of Minnesota women’s hockey team, and the St. Paul Police Department.
