Dick and Sandra Brown host fundraising event to benefit the Herb Brooks Foundation

On the evening of October 25, Sandra and Dick Brown hosted a very special fundraising event at their beautiful home off Lake Minnetonka to benefit the Herb Brooks Foundation (HBF).  The purpose of the gathering was to raise awareness about the HBF and to help raise additional funds so the Foundation can continue offering hockey-related programs for children at no cost to them or their families.  This was in keeping with Herb’s idea of giving the game back to the kids while growing the game.

As a special treat, Dan Brooks, Herb’s son, brought the 1980 Gold Medal and everyone was excited to see the famed “Miracle on Ice” prize while they reminisced about its historical meaning.

Sandra Brown, the evening’s host along with her husband Dick, gave an impassioned speech about the profound impact the game of hockey has had on their family and how it has enriched their lives.  Sandra also encouraged the guests to pass along what they learned about the HBF to others so they too can help the HBF grow and increase its services for young people throughout the metro area.

The HBF sincerely thanks The Brown’s for hosting this special evening while also thanking the many guests who visited their home to learn more about the HBF and how they can help to grow the mission of giving the game back to the kids.
