HBF Celebrates Outdoor Youth Hockey in Style

The Herb Brooks Foundation (HBF) was again pleased to partner with the organizers of the 4th Annual Sticks in Stillwater Festival at the St. Croix Valley Recreation Center in Stillwater during the weekend of January 12-13.

Special thanks to the outstanding staff from the St. Croix Valley Recreation Center and the volunteers from the Watermark Church.   The weather and ice conditions were ideal for outdoor hockey and the event couldn’t have been better for the kids, coaches, parents, sponsors, and fans.

A total of 60 Mites/U8 boys and girls teams participated in the event with teams coming from Austin, Chisago, Farmington, Forest Lake, Mahtomedi, Mounds View, Prior Lake, South St. Paul, St. Mary’s Point, Woodbury and Wahpeton, North Dakota.

The ceremonial opening face-off was conducted by Tournament Director Jim Boo with Stillwater Mayor Ted Kozlowski on Saturday morning prior to the girl’s game between Austin & Prior Lake.

Also continue to follow the HBF on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter for more exciting news and information as the HBF continues to “grow the game for kids”.
