REQUEST FOR DONATION
The Herb Brooks Foundation (HBF) is dedicated to the legacy of Herb Brooks and focused on the mission, which is: “Give the games back to the Kids.” The HBF was established to continue his legacy by giving financial support to kids and communities in order to provide “Miracle Opportunities”. The Foundation specifically supports families and programs which are committed to the further development amateur players and coaches Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota in order to fulfill Herb’s dream.
We recognize the tremendous amount of need in the hockey community and the HBF is dedicated to providing as much support as we can. Before you or your organization submits a request form, you must meet three (3) of these five (5) criteria:
1. Does the individual or organization represent the characteristics, values and traits of Herb Brooks.
2. Will this donation help grow the game of hockey. Will it help revive and expand hockey.
3. Will this donation positively impact a hockey player and/or family in need.
4. Will this donation provide medical assistance or needs for an injured hockey player.
5. Will this donation be used to provide equipment for Learn to Skate programs.
If you or your organization meets at least three of the criteria, you must comply with the following guidelines:
- All donation requests must be submitted online.
- The online donation form must be filled out completely in order for your request to be considered.
- You or your organization must be located in MN, WI, IA, SD and ND.
- Your request for a donation must be received 60 days prior to the day your organization needs. All donation requests will be reviewed quarterly by the HBF Board – March, June, September and December.
The only exception to this timeframe is fundraisers being held for critically ill or injured children and adults.
An organization is eligible to receive only one (1) donation from HBF per calendar year. Please do not call of the status of your donation.
If you or your organization request is approved you will receive notification after the HBF quarterly board meetings. Donations will be presented by an HBF board member.
Due to the large volume of requests received on a monthly basis we cannot make exceptions to the above guidelines. Please keep in mind that submitting an online request does not guarantee your organization will receive a donation. We make every effort to accommodate as many requests as possible. However due to the number of requests HBF receive on a monthly basis, we are simply unable to accommodate all requests that fit our guidelines.
We do not donate memorabilia or signed donations.
